The published mileage starts at a high-clearance trailhead
The 1.6-mile roundtrip figure is measured from the Devil's Bridge Trailhead on FR 152 — a road the page itself calls rough, high-clearance-only, and not recommended in wet weather. For everyone else, the page says: "Use the signed Mescal-Chuckwagon trail connection to reach Devils Bridge Trailhead", which adds distance the page does not total. Published time: 2 hours roundtrip.
No fee line on this page
The trail page prints no fee or pass section, so that fact is recorded as not published rather than as free. The district's Red Rock Pass program governs fee sites generally; see the trails hub for the program's own words.
