From the Sedona record
Do you need a Red Rock Pass in Sedona?
Yes, if you park and leave your vehicle at a Coconino National Forest fee site around Sedona. The Forest Service puts it plainly: "If you leave your vehicle while recreating at a fee site on the Coconino National Forest, you must purchase a recreation pass." The Red Rock Pass is that recreation pass. An America the Beautiful interagency pass works instead at many of those sites. Pass prices, dated, are on the Red Rock Pass guide. Check the current fee before you buy, because fees change. It is not the only fee in town. A few popular creek and canyon sites charge a separate Coconino Hospitality concessionaire fee that neither pass covers, and Arizona State Parks such as Slide Rock charge their own entrance fee. A pass is also not a reserved parking spot. The full fee map, site by site, is on the guide: Red Rock Pass Sedona: what it covers and where you pay something else. Every figure here carries its source and the date it was checked. This answer was last reviewed on .

Do I need a Red Rock Pass just to hike in Sedona?
Only if you park and leave your vehicle at a listed Coconino National Forest fee site. The Forest Service says: "If you leave your vehicle while recreating at a fee site on the Coconino National Forest, you must purchase a recreation pass." Trailheads such as Cathedral Rock and Bell Rock Pathway are on its "Red Rock Pass or ATB" list. The full site list is on the Red Rock Pass guide. Check the live page before you go.
Can I use my America the Beautiful pass instead?
At sites the Forest Service lists as "Red Rock Pass or ATB," yes. Its wording: "The ATB Pass can be used in lieu of a Red Rock Pass at many Sedona-area Coconino National Forest sites." It does not cover the Coconino Hospitality concessionaire sites or the state parks.
Does a Red Rock Pass cover Crescent Moon, West Fork or Grasshopper Point?
No. The Forest Service lists Crescent Moon Picnic Site, Call of the Canyon Picnic Site / West Fork, and Grasshopper Point as Coconino Hospitality concessionaire sites that "do not recognize the Red Rock or ATB pass." It also says the Coconino Hospitality Annual Pass "does not cover sites covered by the Red Rock or ATB passes." Day-use fees are on the Red Rock Pass guide. Check the live page before you go.
Does it cover Slide Rock or Red Rock State Park?
No. The Forest Service says the Red Rock Pass "is not valid at other sites such as National Parks or parks managed by the State of Arizona," and lists both state parks as "State Park Entrance Fee." The current Slide Rock fee is on the Slide Rock State Park guide. Check it with Arizona State Parks before you go.
Do I need a pass if I ride the Sedona Shuttle?
Not for the trailhead. The official Sedona Shuttle FAQ asks "Is a Red Rock Pass required for shuttle riders at the trailhead?" and answers "No." The free trailhead shuttle runs Thursday through Sunday, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM as published, from Park & Ride lots. Details are on the Sedona Shuttle place record. Check the live page before you go.
Where do I buy a Red Rock Pass?
The Forest Service lists kiosk fee machines at the fee site (Daily, Weekly or Annual), the Sedona Chamber of Commerce, and the Red Rock Visitor Center (Daily and Weekly, not Annual). It is also sold on Recreation.gov, where "a printed copy of the pass will not be made available. Instead, your license plate number will be recorded."
Does a pass guarantee me a parking space?
No. The Red Rock Pass guide notes that passes do not guarantee parking availability (Recreation.gov). On trailhead-shuttle days, the Cathedral Rock and Soldier Pass trailhead lots close to the public while the shuttle runs.
