Temporarily closed at the time of compilation
On August 30, 2026, the Call of the Canyon Picnic Site page — this trail's parking and entry point — stated: "Temporarily closed due to the Pocket Fire and potential flooding impacts." An "Oak Creek Temporary Area Closure" alert was also displayed on the trail page. Check the forest's alerts before planning this hike.
Two fee figures on two official pages
The trail page (last updated July 23, 2025) prints "Weekly: $20"; the newer Call of the Canyon page (last updated July 18, 2026) prints "$25 per week" and adds: "The Red Rock Pass and America the Beautiful Pass are not accepted at this site." Both are reproduced verbatim; the newer page is the likelier current price. Hours as published there: April 1 - September 30, 7 a.m. to dusk; October 1 - March 31, 8 a.m. to dusk.
Creek crossings and fire season
