For listed businesses
Show that you are listed: the Sedona Index badge
Any business with a record in The Sedona Index may show a small "Listed in The Sedona Index" badge on its own website. The badge links to that business's own record on sedonaindex.com. Showing it is optional and free. It is never required for a listing, and it never changes a record's placement or verification status. Corrections to a record are always free.
The badge
This is the badge as it looks on a page. In this preview it links to the A-Z list of records. In your copy it links to your own record.
The small drawing is the flat version of the Cairn mark, in the Cairn paper, red and clay colours. The words are live text, not part of the drawing.
Copy the code
Choose one. Both are plain HTML. Neither loads a script, an image or a font. Neither carries a tracking parameter or any link other than the one to your record.

Use this if your site builder removes drawings, or if you prefer a text link.
<a href="https://sedonaindex.com/operators/REPLACE-WITH-YOUR-RECORD-NAME/">Listed in The Sedona Index</a>In both, REPLACE-WITH-YOUR-RECORD-NAME stands where your record's name goes. Replace the whole address with your record's address before you publish. The steps below show how.
How to add it
- Open the A-Z list of records and choose your business.
- Copy the address of your record from your browser's address bar. It has the form
https://sedonaindex.com/operators/your-business-name/. - Paste the code where you want the badge to appear. A page footer or an About page is common.
- Replace the address in the code with the address of your record.
- Open your page and click the badge. It must open your own record.
If your business has no record yet, read what a listing is first. The badge is only for a business that has one.
What the badge means, and what it does not
The badge says one thing: this business has a record in The Sedona Index. It does not say the record has been confirmed with the business. It says nothing about quality.
It is not a rating, an award, a certification, an endorsement or a licence check. It has no stars, scores or check marks. The Sedona Index does not rate, score or rank any business.
Please show it as it is. Do not add words such as verified, best, top, certified or rated. Verified is a separate status, defined on the methodology page.
Show it only while your business has a record. If a record is removed, remove the badge too.
Optional, free and never required
- Optional. No business has to show the badge.
- Free. There is no charge for the badge or the code. It is open to every listed business, whether or not that business pays for anything.
- Never required for a listing. A record stays in the index whether or not the badge appears on your site.
- No effect on placement. Comparison tables are ordered by listed price. The badge changes no record's place on any page.
- No effect on verification. A record is verified only when the operator confirms each fact with the editor. The badge plays no part in that.
- Nothing offered in return. The Sedona Index gives nothing for showing the badge. It asks for no link in return for a listing, a correction or a verification.
- Easy to remove. Delete the code at any time. Nothing about your record changes.
